We met a lovely couple our first weekend in Berlin that were visiting from Hamburg. They recommended that we make a trip there if we had the time. So of course, we did, and we found Alster Lake.
Given that neither Dave nor I have fallen for Berlin, we decided to take the advice of the lovely couple. We only had one night there but we spent most of the day Sunday walking around the beautiful lake Alster. It is right in the middle of the city and a serious treasure. We walked the entire distance around the lake, here are some of the things we saw. The space is a treasure for the folks that live in town and for visitors.
If you find yourself in Hamburg, do walk the lake and take in the sites.
