Magical Park Frankendael – In Amsterdam

Park Frankendael

There are so many parks in Amsterdam

WOW! Amsterdam is full of green spaces but this is my new favorite park in Amsterdam. Park Frankendael located HERE.  This park was originally a country home. It has since been made into a city park. On the property is the original home, which has been converted into a multi-use building.

Offices, a gallery and a restaurant now occupy the space. There is also a second restaurant on the grounds situated inside a greenhouse. The park is quite large with multiple water elements, bridges, open green spaces as well as dense forest patches.

Inside this park is Garden Park Klein Dantzig

What the heck is Garden Park Klein Dantzig? You can visit the people who run the project here  http://www.kleindantzig.nl/welkom/welkom.html – it is run by volunteers. People build the gardening/artist sheds and maintain the garden spaces. It’s a wonderful place to spend a few hours, admiring the adorable cottages, and stunning gardens surrounding them. A truly peaceful and amazing space.

If you find yourself on the far East side it’s definitely worth a visit.
