Kondesa - Modern Mexican

Aqui + Ahora - Coffee shop with food

Kondesa

On our first night in Cozumel we found Kondesa Restaurant. WOW! What an amazing way to start our time here on the island. The ambiance at this place is just magical. The neighborhood is quite unassuming, there isn't any other business on the block. About halfway down the street you'll see a bamboo fence that leads to a hidden gem.

Once through the gate you'll find yourself in an open air restaurant under the canopy of dense foliage. A large tree with sprawling branches covered in creeping vines and hanging moss greets you. A grid of well thought out lighting overhead provides a warm glow.

We ordered a few cocktails and were very pleased, they have a well thought out and well rounded cocktail list.

For dinner we took the queso fundido, lionfish cakes (pictured below) and house specialty ravioli (featured image). There are plenty of options for those who don't eat meat like myself.

The food was really wonderful. Mexican flavors with a modern flare.

For the area the prices are a bit higher than other spots but the foodie offerings coupled with the amazing atmosphere make it well worth it.

I highly recommend a visit. You can visit virtually HERE

Aqui + Ahora

I had done a bunch of research prior to visiting Cozumel. I searched other blogs and watched traveler videos and I am glad I did. I discovered Aqui + Ahora on one such video and knew it would be my home base coffee shop before I ever entered the doors.

This spot is fantastic. The atmosphere is modern, colorful and comfortable. They have good wifi and they don't mind if you put in a work day.

They've got a full coffee menu and food menu complete with tacos, salads, sandwiches and desserts.

If you venture upstairs you'll find a rooftop oasis. They've got plenty of lounge seating, a pool table, ping pong table, a room set up with a big tv and classic video games and a full bar overlooking the water.

I know I'll be heading back on a daily basis and will update the blog as I learn more.
