Apartment in Lapad

I love it here. It feels like a world away and a lifetime ago that we were in Berlin. What a wonderful rental we got. I have been using Airbnb for each of our monthly rentals. First I do a bit of research on what part of town I’d like to be in. Then I search Airbnb using the map. I read the description. Then I read all of the reviews.

So far each of our apartments has been wonderful. This one is great. It is hard to read all of the reviews and judge which ones are an accurate representation of the space and the location.

Amazing Location

Our location is amazing. We are about 2 blocks from the bay of Lapad. We walk down the stairs you see above, and down a hill. At the bottom of the hill is an entrance to a big grove of grass and shade trees, just beyond the grove is a restaurant/bar and the sea.

At the bottom of the stairs, the #4 bus to Old City has a stop. We are there in 10 minutes, it’s a beautiful drive up the coast. Directly across the street, there is a bakery for fresh bread at any time of day… as well as a grocery store.

We have been grilling fresh fish that I buy from the fresh fish market in Gruz on our outdoor grill and eating outside at our table.

The Space

The space is small but very comfortable. Below you see photos of our living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The apartment is air-conditioned which is essential on the very hot days.

Another amazing thing, that I didn’t know about when I rented this spot is that it’s more of an apartment hotel. The woman that lives upstairs runs the space like an Inn almost. There are 3 rentals, and she comes in once a week to change sheets and linens and vacuum – it’s been an unexpected treat, since usually when you get an Airbnb you are on your own.

And best of all, we have a pup living upstairs, he comes down to hang out with us often. Meet Morrow, he’s a sweet 14 year old boy.

If you are heading to Dubrovnik. I highly recommend this space!
